Exploring how age, medication usage, and dentures effect the sensory perception and liking of oral nutritional supplements in older adults

Sensory perception of Oral Nutritional Supplements (ONS) by older and younger adults has been investigated, but few studies have examined the sensory ONS within different adult cohorts. This study sought to investigate effects age, dentures, medications on perception, liking, intake a high- low-viscosity (0.009 0.177 Pa.s respectively at 50.1 s?1) assess appetite. Eighty (51 aged 65–74 years, 29 75 + mean age 74 ± 8 range 65–97 35 men, 45 women) evaluated two over days. Each (200 mL) was consumed five sips (40 mL each). The panellists each sip using check-all-that-apply questionnaire (CATA) comprising taste texture attributes.
